Sydkustleden – a bicycle route on the Swedish Southcoast

In 2019, Sydkustleden was opened as Sweden’s third nationally rated tourism bicycle trail. This certification indicates that Sydkustleden is a high-quality trail that is safe from traffic, and offers a wide range of experiences and service along the trail.

Take a trip between Copenhagen and Helsingor along with the coast and experience exciting museums, marvellous castles and quaint coastal towns along the Danish coast.

At just under 17 miles with Helsingborg and Landskrona you can experience lots! From Ålabodarna in the north you will soon come to Borstahusen which is an idyll for itself! This old fishing village dating back to the 18th century has its own fish smokehouse. Here you have a view of Ven!
The undulating and beautiful landscape of Glumslöv's slopes is difficult to miss and the thoughts of Tuscany.

The journey south from Landskrona offers a pleasant two hour bike ride. Stopping at Lomma's shallow beaches or visiting Bjärred’s open-air bathhouses on the road is a given. From Lomma to Malmö, where the newly built harbor area joins old houses on cobbled streets. There is also a vineyard with its own production and farm shops with Fairtrade and ecological supply. Near Lomma is also Bjärred which invites you to a cool bath from the nice beach or the well-known long bridge.
Spend a few days in Malmö and shop at Möllan, take a bath at the Ribban open-air bathhouse, walk through the park Pildammsparken, have a cup of coffee at the Slottsträdgården castle garden café, and visit the harbour in Västra Hamnen and the Turning Torso. And don’t miss Malmö's excellent restaurants, from Guide Michelin restaurants to excellent street food.

End your swedish bike journey in Ystad and stroll among the 300-year-old half-timbered houses and visit Sweden's oldest monastery. Then continue on west and discover ancient Bronze Age burial mounds, the vibrant fishing spots Beddinge beach and Böste, historic dolmens and Sweden's southernmost point, Smygehuk.
