NORTH ZEALAND 

In the Deergarden you drive on cozy paths, experience some of the many deers who live here and get a preview of the royal UNESCO World Heritage Parforce Landscape with the royal hunting castle Erimitage Castle in the middle. Experience the small historical and cozy town Raadvad where once the steal and powder production took place and where you today can experience local handicraft in the old and preserved cultural and historical buildings. 

If you go east you reach Øresund Waters where you in the horizon can see Sweden and where the tour along the shore invites to a visit at the many small harbors. In Humblebæk you can visit Louisiana Museum of Modern Art and in Elsinore you can visit Kronborg castle where the statue of Holger Danske resides as well as you can see the most narrow water between Denmark and Sweden, only 15 km wide. 

If you instead go west from Raadvad you follow the Millriver whose power once gave life to the machinery in Raadvad. You pass Lyngby Lake ad Bagsværd Lake and come to Furesø (Furesø Lake) through the city Lyngby. Along Furesø to Farum Lake or through Hareskoven where there are excellent mountainbike paths. From here you can take a small detour to the old military airbase Værløse Flyvestation where you today can bike on the old landing stip.



From Furesø you can go north through the lovely woods of North Zealand and reach Hilleørd where you can visit Frederiksborg Castle which houses the cultural history museum and take a stroll in the beautiful garden. In Store Dyrehave and Gribskov a little outside Hillerød you can experience the true UNESCO World Heritage Parforce Landscape. Explore the straight roads of the historical Parforce hunting roads and pay attention to the star formation in the road crossing where all the roads meet.

Next to Gribskov Esrum lake invites to cozy moments and on the other side of the lake Fredensborg castle and royal gardens are worth a visit. Here the Queen spends some time during summer.

Do you chose to head east from Fredensborg castle there is a short bikeride to Elsinore and the tour takes you past Gurre Castleruin close to Gurre Lake.

From Furesø you can also choose to go a little west into the Nature Park Mølleå and experience a breathtaking view formed by the iceages and the cozy paths offer a great bikeride before heading north to Hillerød from here.



North Zealand streches all the way to the Kattegat waters and from Hillerød og Fredensborg you can go north/northwest and reach the shoreline to Kattegat. Here the cozy villages Gilleleje, Tisvildeleje and Liseleje great you with fresh fish and cold Danish beer for lunch. All the way west you reach Hundested where there during summertime are sand sculptures and the way there takes you past Asserbo Castleruin in Tisvilde Hegn passing Melby Overdev.

Do you instead chose to go northeast to Gilleleje and further east to Elsinore you can pass the historical buildings of Søborg Castleruin, Esrum Monastary and Møllegård just like Hammermøllen and Teglstrup Hegn also are on the way. 

Last but not least you can chose to go even further west from Nature Park Mølleå and reach Roskilde Fjord and bike along the fjord north through the city Frederikssund, Frederiksværk and further on reaching Hundested. Going east after Frederiksværk you reach Liseleje, Tisvildeleje and Gilleleje passing Arresø (Arre Lake).
